About Mrs. Peterson
I grew up in south central Minnesota on a crop and cattle farm with my two older brothers. Throughout my youth, I was involved in 4-H, WSCA (horse showing), and FFA. I attended South Dakota State University, double majoring in Animal Science and Agricultural Education with a minor in Equine Science. Throughout college, I was involved in the Equestrian Team and Little International. After a year in graduate school studying ruminant nutrition, I decided that teaching was where I needed to be!
My husband and I live on our acreage near Brookings. I have always been an animal lover, but my particular passion is horses. My colts, Hank and Roy, occupy much of my free time. I also love my dogs and cats. My husband and I enjoy traveling, target shooting, hunting, fishing, and the occasional concert. I also enjoy helping my in-laws work cattle on their ranch.
I am looking forward to my first year as the Deubrook agriculture teacher and FFA advisor!
